WORSHIP AND COMMUNION SERVICE
This is our first time of hosting the Worship and Communion Service with you here. Those of you who have never been in a program this way will probably not know what it is like.
Let me explain to you what worship is and what the communion is. I may teach on prayer for three weeks but until you see and hear me pray and see the result, you may not really get it. There are so many thing we teach by demonstration and this is one of such.
Worship is the recognition and appreciation of the goodness, blessing, kindness and righteousness of God. It is a confession of His character. When you say, Lord you are kind, you have blessed me; you are recognizing, appreciating and promoting the character of God and He loves that.
When you thank Him for the blessings and all the wonderful things he has done, you are saying, Lord I know it's you. You are attributing all to him and the result is that he will do more. It means you are distinguishing him from all others. Not only does he bless you more, he will reveal himself to you in a greater way. Worshiping God brings a greater revelation of God to you. We worship only God, not angels. None of them can reveal things greater than them to you.
God reveals himself to you and in this way, he reveals even your future to you. Those who encountered God in the Bible received a revelation of God himself. Worship is for us much more than a form of ritual. That's why when we go to church, when it's time to worship, give your attention. You cannot worship God anyway you choose. Remember the two men in the Bible that offered their sacrifices to God. Cain and Abel. Remember Cain offered to God what he had, and the offering was rejected. Abel offered to God what God demanded, and it was accepted.
You don't give to God what you think you have, you give him what he wants.
John 4:23-24KJV:
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The father is seeking those who will worship him in spirit and in truth. God in the Bible instructed the priest even on what to say. He didn't ask them to think on what they want to say. Worshipping God in spirit and truth means to worship him in reality. To do so, you must be born of His Spirit. How do you worship in spirit when you are not born of the Spirit?
Imagine this, the moment a man is given birth to, he is headed to the tomb. He is 1 day old. A month old. He is already old!
Who is Jesus. He is not just a man. Some think he is a good educated man, no, he is not.
Acts 26:16 - 58KJV
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
The prophets gave to us, Messiah, the son of Joseph.
Messiah, the son of David.
Messiah the son of Joseph is the suffering Messiah. Messiah the son of David is the King. Those who know him only as this wondered why he still had to die.
One of the reason there is a lot of misconception about the message of Christianity is the misconception of the message of redemption.
Galatians 3:13-14 KJV:
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the 13 Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Acts 13:39 KJV
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Galatians 3:26-29KJV
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
If you never believed in God, from what will be happening here tonight you will believe. Miracles are taking place here even now. God's presence is in this place.
Matthew 26:26- KJV
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
This means there is a new testament. Wow, go to Hebrews 9:13-14KJV
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
It's touching to know that Jesus will willingly offer himself for the sins of men. The same things that the blood of Bulls were used for. Am touched.
Hebrews 9:15-17KJV
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
This is legal truth, right.
The power of God doesn't make people to change their lives, it has to take their decision. Remember the story of Jesus and His disciples on the night that he was betrayed. Peter betrayed Jesus the next morning. Well you may think that's terrible. But that's what most of us do everytime. You may have been asked, are you one of those Christians and you are like, not really. If you know who this Jesus is, you will never be ashamed of Him. Who is this Jesus? John 1:1-5,12-14. The Word was made flesh, the right connotations is the Word became flesh
1 John 1:1-3, John 5:24-28
Jesus had inherent life like the Father has. When you receive Jesus, you receive life. He is the son of the living God. All things were made by him.
Jesus came to give me life, the life he brought destroys sickness and diseases. If you believe in Jesus, don't keep quiet, say it. If you don't, you will never enjoy the
